Hello! My name is
Mykal Westeinde (he/him)I'm a recent UBC Engineering Physics graduate, fueled by a passion for conscious innovation and driven by a desire to create social equity and climate solutions.
I just completed a year-long transformation of a Kawasaki Industrial robot into a 6-axis CNC mill in Squamish, BC. This involved designing, wiring, and programming the Beckhoff PLC and servo controls, developing a web-based HMI control system, designing the mechanical work-holding system, and calculating and programming the robot kinematics. This project was not only a significant technical challenge but also a valuable experience in managing budgets and timelines.
As I conclude this project, I am eager to tackle new challenges. I am excited about solving climate and social equity solutions through recycling, agriculture technology and robotics. My ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly, coupled with my enthusiasm for collaborating with passionate individuals, positions me well to contribute to impactful initiatives. If my experience aligns with your team's goals, I’d love to connect!
Below are some of the projects that have significantly shaped my skills and experiences.
